connecting with people

  Skype

I have been on Skype with my boyfriend who’s studying in London for at least 2 years and it is much easier to Skype with him as this allows me to see and talk to him. Free video calling is a great way to keep in touch with your friends and family and I feel that using Skype helps me to have better and clearer conversation with whoever I will like to communicate with. Whether you’re separated by a few time zones or just working away for the week, Skype is a simple way to catch up and see how your loved ones are doing. With Skype video calling available on desktops, tablets and mobiles, you’re never too far from seeing those that matter to you face-to-face. Parents and teachers should monitor their children while they are utilizing Skype. If necessary, keep the computer in a common area, like the living room.  Discuss “stranger danger” with your children, especially how to avoid contact with strangers online and what to do if one tries to communicate with them on the computer. Make sure your child’s account is protected with a unique, long password that includes a combination of letters numbers, and characters.

Toolbelt

What is toolbelt ?
I was just wondering what is this toolbelt theory is all about and why is important in ICT and Why is it important for teachers. I have learnt that teacher’s role nowadays have to teach our students how to analyse tasks, the task-completion environment, their own skills and capabilities, an appropriate range of available tools… and let them start to make their own decisions. This is where the TEST (Task, Environment, Skills, Tools) framework uses in Socol’s Toolbelt theory.I personally like the idea the author mentioned “We are humans. We are tool users. We are defined as humans by our constantly changing tools. Those tools, in turn, actually change who we are, as they alter our capabilities. Your school must be a tool shop, where tools are demonstrated, taught, considered, respected, used, and deliberately chosen. Because we cannot afford to send our students out without the toolbelts they need to function in their future world.” (Socol, 2009).As a result, we teachers must always keep updated by preparing students to use the 21st century technology because technologies and our ecological are changing every day.

What is TPACk?

www.matt-koehler.com
T.P.A.C.K is really something new to me. There are too many new ICTs tools and framework in our study desk. Sometime, it really makes me confused what does it all about. After I go through all the study materials in my study desk , I finally could grasp the meaning what TPACK is all about. Basically, this framework is to help 21st century teachers who are able to bring together knowledge of subject content, what is good for learning, and technology of ICT. I have read through this article from a Journal of Research on Technology in Education (2009), I found out that the research explained very clearly about what does TPACK framework is stand for (TK, CK, PK, PCK, TCK, TPK, TPACK).Lastly, I am not really expert in functioning with technology resources, thus I think TPACK is a very difficult framework for me to apply this into my teaching environment. However, in future, I will try to use this framework in my teaching practice and apply this (CK, PK, TK) into my lesson plan.

I feel it my private and confidential.Furthermore, I do not need to buy newspaper thus, save my money because all the news, gossip, events and invitations are keep updating by my Facebook friends in their wall status and all I need is just scroll down your Facebook page and read.

       Cameras( ICT)

hello there,

I have newly bought a new camera 2 days back and need to snap and takes photographs of a school event that is going to be held in my school soon. The camera that I have bought has very good zooming and contains more function compare to other normal cameras.I have better access to this camera compare to my previous camera.I think using cameras is important because it helps us to capture the pictures that we like.In this video the child uses a toy camera to take a picture of himself.Children can even use real digital cameras to capture pictures of their favorite or take a video of their work or presentation. They can even use digital cameras  to make their  learning visible and Take close up photographs of children to record their learning and achievements.

Hello there,

I would love to share this with all of you…
I just bought a new IPad 3 days back, Ever since I bought my first iPad , I knew it was a matter of when, not if, the iPad would become my primary personal computer .I seriously have no idea on how to use the iPad till it took me at least 2 weeks to learn all the software’s. There is a lot to learn in the iPad. There is a combination of small size, ease of use, quick start up, and the ability to use Bluetooth keyboards made it a very appealing package. Besides that GoogleWhats App, songs, games video recorder and taking photos can be easily use and downloaded. My primary use of the iPad has been content consumption. I’m a voracious reader and also store all of the sheet music and lyrics for my band rehearsals on it. Teachers should Integrate ICT such as using I Pad in the classroom that will help students make their learning much more meaningful.I agree with Stephanie Raj  that parents play a role in helping children choice games and be a guide to them.
Happy blogging......

Educational games for children

https://www.google.com.my/search?q=educational+games+for+children

Hello there,

Children can learn using ICT through educational games. There are different types of educational games online where students can explore. Educational games can take many different forms of computer.  In this case, it can be important because it can help teach the students about using a computer, which is a very important thing to know in today's modern world.  It can even help them with their typing skills.  Consider these and the above benefits when deciding whether or not educational games are right for your classroom. Parents can even buy for their children DVD or CD’S on the educational games and play the games with the children at home .Educational games are very important in the classroom, no matter what the age of the students.  There are a variety of reasons for this, including the following. They can be useful to students who have trouble focusing during lectures .The truth of it that many students feel that lectures are boring. I even believe that educational games enhance children’s learning and helps in their development through ICT.
